Happy four year anniversary to my husband. Here are some highlights from our 2007 wedding in Cabo San Lucas. We were blessed to have 65 close friends and family join us in the occasion. It was (and still is) special to have been surrounded by those we love so much. We had a blast and still are. Happy Anniversary Baby Daddy!
The evening before we had our rehearsal dinner under the full moon.
There he is, waiting for me. Isn’t he handsome?
During our ceremony, our brother-in-law was our officiant.
Toes in the sand beach ceremony.
The wedding party.
This group shot is one of my favorites.
Reception dinner prayer.
Let the good times roll as we danced the night away.
Want more wedding? I blogged about it over at Modern Hostess as well (of course I did).

When I saw this happy face this morning in my Fresno Groupon email I was thrilled. Not only is that cutie my adorable niece, but it is a photo I took at her Wonderland party we had at Storyland. Woo-hoo! This groupon is for Rotary Storyland & Playland entrance to both parks for only 5 bucks! If you are in Fresno with kids or will be in the area between now and December, get this groupon! Not only is the little girl cute as pie on the ad but Storyland & Playland are great places to entertain the whole family and at the great price of $5!

This last weekend we celebrated my niece’s 4th birthday with an Alice in Wonderland themed party at Rotary Storyland & Playland. You can see how things came together over at Modern Hostess. But I thought I’d keep it real over here and show you the creating of a Wonderland party.
When my sister, Mama Bird, booked the party in Alice’s Court of Storyland the Wonderland theme was born. I got to work scouring the thrift stores in my area for tea pots, saucers, and cups to create the centerpieces. Here is a look at my pieces before they went under the spray can.

Thanks to Baby Daddy these dishes got a new coat paint.
And that’s not all that got a new paint job.
And voila! The final product:
Here’s are the cupcake stylists.
The kids are having fun in wonderland.
And the aftermath of a good party.

Here is one of my favorite photos of the day. The cousins getting into the dessert table together.
Be sure to check out the full posts over at Modern Hostess, part 1 and part 2.

Last week Lil’G participated in the belting ceremony at The Pit North in Atascadero. Lil’G attends the Lil Champions class they offer for 2-3 year olds. I have to admit that I wasn’t sure how Lil’G would do during the ceremony in front of all the people. But he did great and he performed his moves perfect.
Here Lil’G is after being presented with his new white/yellow belt.

It’s a beautiful spring day here on the Central Coast and I was able to sneek down to Arroyo Grande to visit the Rutiz Family Farms. It is about a 40 minute jaunt down the 101 and the farm stand has limited hours so I don’t get to enjoy their goods as often as I’d like. This family farm grows organically grown, fertilized vegetables, fruits, and berries. They offer a weekly harvest box that you can order on a week-by-week basis. This is something I like because I travel often and can’t commit to many of the harvest box programs in the area.
In addition to my harvest box I picked up some sourdough bread baked over at Eclair Bakery and some other goodies. Here’s what was in my box:
carrots, broccoli, a bag of salad mix, tomatoes from the Salton Sea, a head of green cabbage, a bunch of baby sweet yellow onions, a bulb of fennel,
fava beans, “Sierra Gold” potatoes, and basket of “Jerry’s Berries” strawberries. Yummy! I can’t wait to enjoy all of this goodness. And this is yet another reason why I Love the SLO life.
Sign up for their newsletter so you can be kept in the loop about what’s coming in the harvest box and other happening around the farm.

My 30th birthday was celebrated with Lil’G’s 1st birthday because our birthdays are 12 days apart. We hosted at our house, catered by Compadres, and a ton of friends and family came to celebrate these milestone birthdays . My good friend, The Baker, made the kid’s cupcakes and my birthday cakes. To my surprise she created the the most fantastic birthday cakes with me sprawled across them in all my glory. Not only did they look great but they were ice cream cakes with mint chip ice cream and with brownie cake- my favorite.

This party was more fun than a barrel of monkeys. I still have a few hours of this year’s birthday and will recap this the celebrations for you later.

Many times in my life Easter has fallen on my birthday. The last time was my 25th birthday and incidentally it will not land on my birthday until 2066. That year I hosted an “Eggstravaganza” on Easter Sunday with my family. It was a blast to say the least. There was an Easter egg hunt for the children as well as the adults. Each adult egg contained treats, a lottery scratcher, and a raffle ticket. I raffled off gifts to everybody. This is the birthday that I received the grand lit pink flamingo. Have you ever seen such a sight? When plugged in it flaps it’s wings and dips it’s neck, it’s quite the spectacle. This was one heck of an Eggstravaganza.

And so my birthday week continues with a look at my favorite birthday celebrations of my life. I went out of order on this post due to some technical difficulties. These parties were before my Wine Tasting Tour birthday, here are my 21st and 22nd birthday.
In college I threw myself a couple birthday parties. I bought a bunch of beer, made appetizers, and decorated to celebrate with my friends. It may look like I have a lot of friends, but when you serve food and boos a lot of people will show up.
21st Birthday
Sure, I was 21 and could go to the bars to drink, but many of my friends weren’t 21 yet and I wanted to celebrate with them. For those that went to Cal Poly you can appreciate that we lived in “The Jungle” of Cedar Creek. You can imagine that we had a HUGE party and I probably didn’t know half of these people. But I didn’t care, it was my birthday and I was having a party.
Yes, that is 40 oz of Old English, it wouldn’t have been a party without one, right?
22nd Birthday
This party we had at our house. I made tons of appetizers and even made flower centerpieces. Who does that? A Modern Hostess is who!
My friends singing me Happy Birthday!
There is more birthday posts to come, after all this is my Birthday Week!
/Wine-Tasting0001-1024×781.jpg” alt=”" width=”600″ height=”457″ />For my 22nd birthday I coordinated a “Wine Tour”. I sent out a brochure invitation, rented a small bus, packed a picnic lunch, and wine tasted the day away. This was one of my first dates with Baby Daddy. I gave him a brochure and to my surprise he accepted the invitation. I don’t think he knew what he was getting into. I am not sure I knew what I was getting into. There he was with his flame shoes on a rowdy party bus with my parents, family friends, and a group of my friends (mostly guys).
The first stop was at SummerWood Winery. Incidentally, I ended up working at this winery. I never admitted that I was “that” wine tasting group.
Ha! I used that wine press in Harvest 2005 and cleaned it many, many times.
This was sooo much fun, maybe too much. Little did I know that I was on a trip with my future Baby Daddy. Nor did I know that I would work in the wine industry and come to loathe the crazy, drunk, wine tasting groups. I have no regret about this fabulous birthday party, but I would think twice before I boarded a bus with a bunch of crazies for a day of wine tasting drinking.
